| This is a nice piece, from the BBC Today news programme slot, called Thought for the Day. Usually presented in lay terms by a religious person, when it comes on, usually around 10 to the hour, you either notice or glaze over. This one, from 17 May 2007, caught my ear, but for a political reason: after a heady French presidential election, it seemed to spell out the difference between the winner, Nicolas Sarkozy, and the loser, Segolene Royal. People said he was coherent, he mastered his subject, whereas she seemed confused at times, a little at sea on some issues. Was it that simple? Perhaps behind Sarko’s mastery lurks dark untruths, and in her fumbling there was honesty and some truth too. Read on… Thought for the day By the Rev.
